Micah Richards ‘amazed’ as what David Moyes personally told him comes true at Everton
Micah Richards has piled the praise on David Moyes following Everton’s 2-0 win against Burnley.
Goals from James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall secured a comfortable win at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday, keeping Everton in eighth with nine matches to go.
The Toffees followed up their 3-2 win away at Newcastle perfectly, with Moyes‘ side well and truly in the hunt for European football.
Due to their FA Cup exit, Everton have the coming weekend off, before they will look to take advantage of their added rest in fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea prior to the international break.
Micah Richards quick to praise David Moyes amid Everton European charge
Moyes rejoined the club last January after a previous 11-year spell with the club, and he quickly steered them away from any trouble.
This time around, relegation threats have proven a thing of the past for supporters, who are carrying hopes of a first European venture since 2017.
Speaking on Match of the Day, former Manchester City defender Richards was quick to hail Moyes, adding that the Scotsman previously shared some insight with him while working as a pundit for BBC.
“I think what is interesting is that when we worked with him in the summer during Euro 2024, he was talking about his old methods and going back into the new game, and how they would work,” said Richards.

“To see him go from a pundit having these ideas, then go back into the Premier League and do it like this, I think, is just amazing to see.”
Alongside this, Richard outlined exactly what has impressed him about Moyes as of late.
“I think he’s been brilliant. I think he’s been adaptable when he’s needed to be,” he said.
“They sit deep when they need, but they attack. They’ve lost the likes of [Jack] Grealish, while [Jarrad] Branthwaite has been out, and Ndiaye went to AFCON as well.”

Everton fans can breathe a sigh of relief after current campaign
Relegation worries are now seemingly a thing of the past for Everton fans, who are seeing their club fight for their first European place since 2017.
Conjuring up multiple escapes under Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche, the current situation on Merseyside is a much more desirable experience than what has been seen in recent years.
While it may have been ambitious to suggest that European football would be on the cards this season, Everton have left themselves in with a chance, and deservedly so.
Moyes has instilled calmness at the club after a rather chaotic period – not too dissimilar to the results of his job at West Ham.
With the chance to carry on building over the summer, the only way is up for the Toffees.
