Everton already get Raul Jimenez answer as ‘likely destination’ mooted

Everton could miss out on signing Raul Jimenez, as his likely next move has not been tipped to be at Hill Dickinson.

That is according to Marca, who have reported on the latest information surrounding the Mexican striker.

Jimenez, who is currently contracted to Fulham, will leave the Cottagers at the end of the season when his current deal expires.

The 34-year-old has recently been linked with David Moyes’ side, with Jimenez wanting to stay in England next season.

However, that may not be the case after these latest reports have emerged.

What is Raul Jimenez’ likely destination after Fulham?

Everton’s need for a consistent goal scorer is clear, with both Beto and Thierno Barry struggling to be that player for Moyes.

Beto has scored just four goals in the Premier League this season, with Barry not much better with six goals.

Jimenez would present an opportunity, at least in the short term, to bring in a proven Premier League striker, as he has netted 67 goals since the 2018-2019 season.

However, according to journalist Miguel Gurwitz via Marca, a move to Saudi Arabia appears to be more likely at this stage.

The Blues may now need to look elsewhere to bring in an experienced forward, but if Everton can secure European football, that may very well tip the scales in their favour.

While the allure of a large contract in the Middle East will be tempting, Jimenez’ preference to remain in England, alongside the chance to compete in Europe, could be a true needle mover.

Why Jimenez to Saudi Arabia is blessing in disguise for Everton

Jimenez would be coming to Everton as a short-term option, and in the next year or two, the Blues would be back in this same position.

At 34 years old, the peak of the Mexican number nine’s career is behind him.

While Moyes may be disappointed if Jimenez does not make the move to Hill Dickinson, in the long run, it is likely the best move.

Everton would need to offer quite the high wages to entice the Fulham man to reject a move to the Middle East, and those funds may be better placed in more long-term deals.
