Carlos Alcaraz regret could set in at Everton as exit talks initiated
Carlos Alcaraz has already started talks over a potential exit from Everton.
The Toffees are in for yet another big summer, and arguably their biggest in years, after missing out on a spot in European football for next season.
David Moyes is in need of depth across various areas of his squad, while also needing to see several positions upgraded in terms of quality.
However, many of those additions may need to be balanced with exits, with a handful of players mooted for departures in the coming months.
Alcaraz is the latest to be linked with an exit, and it may be one that they regret.

Why Everton may need to think twice about Carlos Alcaraz exit
Alcaraz’s first season on Merseyside was a fairly successful one, hence their decision to sign him permanently the summer after.
He managed five goal involvements in 16 appearances, which was a respetable return from a midfielder, and much better than his return this season despite playing five more games.
| Premier League | Alcaraz |
| Games | 19 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Chances created | 9 |
| Successful dribbles | 6 |
| Duels won | 42 |
As a result, Alcaraz has been linked with an exit from Everton, with reports from Argentina stating he has already been in talks with Racing Club de Avellaneda over a loan move.

For the Toffees, it would make little sense to sanction it given that they would receive nothing financially and lose a versatile player.
Everton need more depth, not less, and loaning the Argentine out would do nothing to aid that.
Why have things gone south for Alcaraz?
With players like him, his versatility can often be his own downfall, and that may well have been the case this year.
Last season, four of his five goal involvements came when he was utilised in an attacking midfield role, and yet that has still only been his second-most used position this season.
Unsurprisingly, that is also where his only goal involvements this season have come from.
If Moyes used him in the 10 role, he will be of much more use, but if not, then an exit may make sense.
