Robinson reveals ‘huge advantage’ Everton have in transfer market
Although Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival at Everton manager was expected to have a big impact in the transfer market, it has yet to do so.
That won’t be down to any failing on his part, of course, but we are all still waiting for the Italian’s prestige to have an effect.
Having said that, it surely will at some point. That’s certainly the view of former England international Paul Robinson, anyway.
“They’ve got a huge advantage now in the transfer market at Everton – they’ve got Carlo Ancelotti,” he told Football Insider.
“You look at the clubs that he’s managed, you go through his CV and the players that he’s managed in the past as well. He’ll have a great relationship with players that he’s already managed.
“He’ll also have great respect from other players looking at his CV, look at the type of manager he is and it’s a great coup for Everton to have a manager of Ancelotti’s calibre because he does that for you in the transfer market.
“If a player is in doubt over where he wants to go, where his future goes, someone like Ancelotti is key for making that decision as a player.”

Robinson is absolutely spot on, here. Ancelotti could well make the difference in close calls for players who have a few different options over where they could go.
To have the opportunity to play in the Premier League for a big club that’s (hopefully) moving forward, under a manager with three Champions Leagues to his name, would likely be too much to resist for most players.
The Toffees simply didn’t have that same allure under Marco Silva, and wouldn’t have had had they appointed Duncan Ferguson, despite how well he did in his temporary stint in charge.
We’re yet to see the ‘Ancelotti Effect’ bear fruit, but it surely will soon.
In other Everton news, the club have reportedly been offered the chance to sign a former Tottenham Hotspur star.
