Jordan Pickford still more than happy at Everton

Jordan Pickford has responded to ongoing questions about why he remains at Everton rather than moving to a traditionally “bigger” club, suggesting that qualification for European competition would help silence those doubts.

The England goalkeeper believes Everton’s ability to reach Europe this season would reinforce his decision to stay at the club and underline its progress under current leadership.

Pickford also reiterated his satisfaction with life at Everton, pointing to the club environment and his role as key reasons for remaining on Merseyside. Despite occasional criticism and repeated transfer speculation over the years, Pickford made clear that he feels settled and committed to the team’s direction.

And should David Moyes succeed in his mission of guiding Everton into Europe, there will be no risk of Pickford or indeed any of his teammates wanting to exit.

Everton willing to pay around £20m for Jack Grealish

Meanwhile, Everton remain keen on making Jack Grealish’s loan move from Manchester City a permanent deal this summer. Despite his season being cut short by injury, the form he showed before that setback has convinced the Blues to explore a transfer, with the club reportedly valuing him at around £20million as they enter what could be a busy recruitment period. Grealish is said to be open to a return to Hill Dickinson Stadium, where he impressed in the first half of the campaign.

With just one year left on his contract at Man City, Everton could have an advantage in negotiations, particularly as Pep Guardiola has indicated Grealish isn’t central to City’s plans, and few other clubs are expected to match his wage demands. Across 22 appearances for Everton this season, Grealish scored twice and provided six assists, showcasing the creative spark that made him an attractive target.
