Mills expects Everton star to seal January exit
For Everton, the January transfer window is likely to be as much about getting rid of players as bringing them in.
There’s so much deadwood in the squad Carlo Ancelotti’s inherited that the Italian is likely going to pretty busy shifting it this month.
In the final third, particularly, there are too many players who have let the Toffees down time and time again.
One of those is striker Cenk Tosun, who could be off to Crystal Palace on loan. That’s a switch that former England international Danny Mills can certainly see happening.
“He was surplus to requirements under Marco Silva, wasn’t he, almost went at the end of the last transfer window,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s no surprise that he’s on the list of available players who can go. I’m pretty sure he himself, every player wants to play, every player wants to be loved and every player wants to be out there for 90 minutes week in, week out.
“If there’s the opportunity to go somewhere like Palace, the deal is right for both clubs then there’s a good chance it will happen.”

It’s just not quite worked out for Tosun has it? He’s certainly been in the shadows this season, playing just five times in the Premier League.
He’s only scored once this campaign, despite averaging 2.2 shots per game. So it’s clear that he’s still trying and still looking to make an impact at the sharp end of the pitch. It’s simply not been happening for him.
However, it’s not entirely outside the realm of possibility that he goes to Palace, scores five or six times and earns a permanent move there. Either way, though, it’s time for the Toffees to move on.
