Ancelotti shoots down Everton exit rumour
There was a big furore earlier this week when it appeared – just for a second – that Barcelona had serious interest in Everton star Richarlison.
Sky Sports News reported that the Toffees had rejected a colossal £85million bid from the Spanish champions for the Brazilian international.
That was news that shocked the footballing world, and was met with vociferous guffawing from pundits everywhere.
On Friday, in his pre match press conference, Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the matter for the first time.
“He’s still here and he didn’t go to Barcelona!,” he said, as per journalist Adam Jones’ personal Twitter account.
“We didn’t receive an official offer for him, the player is happy here. He is a really important part of our squad. Rumour is rumour.”
It looks like Richarlison is sticking around, then?
It looks like it yes, this is what everyone on Merseyside wanted Ancelotti to come and say, so happy days!
He’a a top quality player and he’s always going to attract interest, but the Toffees need to be keeping these guys.
In other Everton news, a Scottish heavyweight has been rebuffed in their attempts to sign a Toffees winger.
