Goodison News View: Latest report surely puts Ancelotti on brink of reuniting with 29y/o from old club
Everton View
Ever since Carlo Ancelotti took the helm at Everton at the end of last year, it has felt as if the Toffees have started to improve at an almost exponential rate.
For some time, fans and neutrals alike have been fully aware of the potential that this side possesses, but for most of the time under Marco Silva, the Blues vastly underperformed, and struggled immensely with consistency.
Things look to have changed, however, and with the Italian guiding his team to within touching distance of European football next season, the sky is very much the limit for the blue half of Merseyside.
And the same could probably be said of their prospects in the transfer window too.
A number of names have already been linked with lucrative moves to Goodison Park in the coming months, usually alongside the caveat that the player would be keen to play under a manager of Ancelotti’s calibre.
One such talent who has fallen into this category of the rumour mill is Brazilian midfielder Allan, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.
According to the Italian outlet, Ancelotti is keen to reunite with the 29-year-old, who he worked with at Napoli.
And the chances of that deal happening could be heightened greatly by the latest revelation from Gennaro Gattuso, who took over in the dugout in Naples after Ancelotti’s departure.
The World Cup winner has revealed that the player was axed from his match day squad at the weekend for showing a lack of effort in training, as per Goal.
Gattuso is famously a man who doesn’t take too kindly to dissidence in his ranks, and it’s not difficult to foresee a situation whereby Allan is ostracised entirely.
Couple that with a report from Tutto Mercarto Web, which claims that Allan could be tempted by a move to Everton, and the possibility of this one happening might have just been bumped by a notch or two.
