Euro side pondering move for Everton 30-year-old, Toffees waiting on offer – report
Everton are waiting on French side Nice to make an offer for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claim on their website that the French side has registered a firm interest in the 30-year-old with the Toffees being open to selling the midfielder for the past three windows.
It is suggested that Carlo Ancelotti is open to selling Schneiderlin for a fraction of the £24million that was spent three years ago.
The French club are deliberating over whether they are going to make a move for the experienced midfielder moving forward.
It is reported that Nice are willing to offer up to £7million and although that seems low, Everton may just want to get rid at this stage.
Schneiderlin is about to enter the final year of his contract at the club, and there seems to be little to no chance of him signing new terms.
The 30-year-old hasn’t been frozen out by the club though and has made 15 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Schneiderlin has impressed in certain games too, averaging 2.1 tackles per game according to WhoScored – only three players have completed more.
Ancelotti also has the fresh problem of Jean-Phillipe Gbamin pulling up with a fresh injury that will see him out for months, but that doesn’t look like it is set to make a difference to Schneiderlin’s future.
