Report: Everton identify three targets for key area, three PL clubs join race for 21y/o
Everton have identified three central defenders for the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported on their website that the Toffees have joined the race for Real Vallodolid defender Mohammed Salisu.
As well as Everton – Southampton, Manchester United and West Ham United are interested in the 21-year-old Ghanaian enforcer.
The Daily Mail has reported that Everton have also identified Lille’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Jean Clair Todibo of Barcelona as possible signings.
Salisu appears to be the one who is attracting the most interest from Premier League clubs, with the defender eager to move to England.
Southampton have already lodged an offer for the defender, but it was said to be well below the reported release clause at Vallodolid.
Everton could also have one eye on Todibo, who has spent the last season on loan with Schalke in the Bundesliga – alongside Jonjoe Kenny.
Kenny’s future is also unknown at Goodison Park, but he would be able to give Carlo Ancelotti a glowing reference for the young defender despite the German’s struggles after lockdown.
Magalhaes has also caught the attention of many clubs during the past season, with Tottenham reportedly launching a £27million bid for the Brazilian enforcer [Daily Mail].
It appears that whichever target the Toffees choose to target, it won’t be easy to bring them in – with a number of clubs all casting their eyes over each player.
