‘No way’ – Ancelotti strongly denies claims Everton trio could leave Goodison Park
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has denied claims that four of his best players could leave Goodison Park this summer.
The Italian strongly denied rumours as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for European football next season.
Richarlison, Lucas Digne and Mason Holgate have all been linked with moves away from Merseyside recently.
Ancelotti denied claims that he needs to sell to buy in the upcoming window, focusing on Digne’s future in particular.
“No way,” he told talkSPORT. “At this moment, there are a lot of rumours.”
“Lucas Digne is an important player for us, so there is no way that he or anyone else can leave.”
Digne is certainly a strong player for the Toffees, but many would argue that keeping hold of players such as Richarlison and Holgate is more important.
Looking at Digne this season, he has kept the Everton icon, Leighton Baines, out of the fold easily – especially after Ancelotti joined the club.
The 26-year-old has stood out in the entire squad though and is Everton’s second-best performer according to WhoScored’s average match ratings.
His six assists and 2.2 tackles per game prove that the Frenchman is vital in each third of the pitch for Everton prove he is pivotal in the Premier League.
Ancelotti will make sure that every one of his indispensable players remain at the club in the summer, as they will all have a massive role to play in the next campaign.
