Report: Everton trio denied access to training ground after returning from loan spells

Everton trio Yannick Bolasie, Mohamed Besic and Jonjoe Kenny have been denied access to Finch Farm after returning from their loan spells this season.

With COVID-19 testing still happening weekly, the Liverpool Echo has reported that the Toffees want to keep their training ground as bio-secure as possible for their ‘testing bubble’.

Bolasie, Kenny and Besic are ineligible to play in the Premier League this season, although the winger has not been happy with the decision.

The Liverpool Echo have detailed that Everton have asked their returning players to train from home until the end of the season.

This is despite the Premier League having no restrictions on players’ returning to training after loan spells – Everton have decided to stay smart.

Bolasie sent a message directly to Boris Johnson and the Premier League on his personal Twitter account, claiming he requested that more than a month ago.

The African winger also shared footage on his Twitter of him training at home on his first touch and passing.

Bolasie spent the year on loan at Sporting Lisbon, and it is highly likely that he will seal a permanent exit from Goodison Park in the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti will surely have his eye on younger options such as Anthony Gordon and players in the transfer window rather than a player who has tried and failed in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old only managed two goals in all competitions this season, failing with more than half of his actions in each outing – completing 49.8% of his total actions per game according to WyScout.

Bolasie can complain all he wants, but it would be very surprising to see him still at Finch Farm once next season eventually kicks off.
