Everton to revisit bid for Watford star after Hornets relegation confirmed – report
With some big names being relegated, Everton could benefit from their former rivals slipping into the Championship.
Watford and Bournemouth, in particular, have a number of players within their squads that could tempt the Toffees over the summer.
After all, they’ve done it before and it has worked. Richarlison arrived from Watford and has taken to Goodison Park superbly.
Another Watford player that Everton have tried to sign before is Abdoulaye Doucoure. It is being reported that they could revisit that interest.
The Mirror have reported that the deal could now be worth less than the £40million offer that was rejected the first time Everton showed interest.
With the Hornets relegated, they can no longer demand those eye-watering fees for the majority of their squad. That is something that will leave Everton rubbing their hands together to get some bargains.
Doucoure has been superb ever since moving to the Premier League, and the Frenchman would solve a massive problem in Merseyside.
Carlo Ancelotti has been without many options in midfield, with Tom Davies and Andre Gomes the only two clear options he has in the heart of his side.
His second and third years were the best of his Hornets career so far, the 27-year-old being involved in 10 or more goals both seasons.
If Ancelotti could get a midfielder who could add that to his side, the Toffees would be much more of an attacking presence next season.
In other Everton news, Charlie Nicholas has questioned the squad claiming that one player looks disinterested
