‘Fanstastic’ – Carlo Ancelotti delighted with progress of behind-the-scenes staff member
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on his son and assistant manager Davide Ancelotti for his start to life at Goodison Park.
It is unusual to see a father-son partnership in the Premier League, but the Ancelotti’s have been working together ever since the days at Paris Saint-Germain.
Davide then followed Carlo to the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli, earning more UEFA qualifications as he goes.
Ancelotti has been delighted with his progress and heaped praise on his ability to always want to learn.
“He is a really young assistant manager but he has had fantastic experience, training with the best players,” he told the official club website.
“The key factor for Davide is he always wants to learn. He studied, studied and studied. He was watching all the games and he is not one who will stop wanting to learn and improve.
“I am really happy with his progress because he has had a lot of pressure in his job. He tried to make it as a player but he understood he was not quite good enough and after that, he turned and tried to study.”
Ancelotti has all of the relevant coaching badges and has proved that he can have success with his father no matter which club they go too.
He has excelled in his UEFA coaching badges, and as Ancelotti mentioned, he must start to handle the pressure of their surname.
It was an average start to life at Goodison Park last season, but with their first-full transfer window and campaign ahead, the Ancelotti’s will be raring to go.
