Premier League rivals preparing £12million bid for homegrown Everton talent – reports

Everton midfielder Tom Davies is in the centre of speculation as the transfer window starts to gather pace.

The Daily Mail have reported that Newcastle are interested in the homegrown Toffees talent, with Steve Bruce keen to strengthen at St James’ Park.

Carlo Ancelotti is keen to add more options in midfield at Goodison Park, so losing any of his current options wouldn’t make sense.

According to the Daily Mail though, Everton would be open to offloading some of their squad this summer.

It is suggested that Newcastle are preparing a £12million move for the 21-year-old – Ancelotti incidentally values Davies much higher.

The Italian would prefer some of his higher-earners rather than Davies but hasn’t completely shut down the idea of an exit for the England youth international.

Looking at other options that could leave the club, midfielder Fabian Delph screams out as a high earner who wouldn’t be massively missed.

The 30-year-old is currently on £80,000-a-week at Everton [Spotrac] and that money would surely be better spent elsewhere.

One club Delph won’t be joining is former side, Leeds. The Whites were linked with a move, but an ageing Premier League player doesn’t fit the bill at Elland Road [Sky Sports].

Davies is regularly used by the Toffees and helps with the Premier League’s homegrown agenda, something which should be considered by Ancelotti.
