Everton enter three-club race for Celtic midfielder rated at £20million – reports

Carlo Ancelotti is currently going through his first transfer window at Goodison Park as Everton manager.

The Italian will be keen to reinforce his Toffees side with his own influences after guiding them to a disappointing 12th-placed finish in the Premier League.

There a number of areas that need strengthening, but after missing out on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, midfield could be a priority.

According to 90min, the Toffees are now interested in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, not the first time the Frenchman has been linked with a Premier League switch.

It is suggested that Everton have entered a three-horse race for the 24-year-old, with Southampton and West Ham also interested.

Celtic are said to have placed a £20million price tag on Ntcham, and the midfielder is keen on a switch to England after winning everything he can in Scotland.

Ntcham has one year left on his contract and is looking to prove a point after leaving Manchester City as a teenager.

There is interest in some of Everton’s midfield options too, with Newcastle preparing a £12million offer for Tom Davies [Daily Mail].

Ancelotti would prefer to keep his younger homegrown talents and could offload the likes of Fabian Delph instead – an older player on big wages.

Ntcham has had to settle for a place on the bench of Celtic’s first two games this season, only managing to complete 30 minutes.

Neil Lennon clearly doesn’t see a massive role for the Frenchman, and that could raise question marks over his ability.
