Sky Sports: Everton could seal deal for £200k/wk player by Wednesday
Everton are finally closing in on the signing of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.
The Toffees and Carlo Ancelotti have been chasing the Colombian international for a number of weeks now, and finally, appear to have made a breakthrough.
Rodriguez is deemed surplus-to-requirements by Zinedine Zidane, and the £200,000-a-week player is now set to move to Goodison Park.
Sky Sports have reported that Everton could seal a deal for Rodriguez by Wednesday of this week.
It is suggested on their website that the two clubs are closing in on an agreement and that the 29-year-old could complete his medical by the end of the week.
Initially, it was being reported that a loan deal was the most likely for Ancelotti and Everton, although that could change.
In the same report, it is claimed that Rodriguez is keen to put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Goodison Park.
Rodriguez did only complete 419 minutes in the La Liga last season, starting five games out of his eight appearances.
The 29-year-old only managed to add a single goal and assist in those outings, and despite this Ancelotti has always been a massive fan.
The Colombian made a massive name for himself on the World Cup stage, and he will be given the chance to bring that back at Goodison Park – we can’t wait to see it.
