Confirmed: Everton hand out yet another five-year deal to Toffees talent

Anthony Gordon has signed a new five-year deal at Everton.

The promising Toffees talent made his breakthrough after the enforced COVID-19 break in the Premier League, debuting against Liverpool.

Carlo Ancelotti will take praise for that as he brought through not only Gordon but Jarrad Branthwaite as well at Goodison Park.

Gordon cemented his spot under Ancelotti at the end of last season, and this will be his reward for managing to do just that.

The 19-year-old shared his delight at his new deal on Tuesday, claiming it is a reward for all of his hard work in the previous year.

“I am delighted to sign and it is a big reward for my hard work,” he said.

“The contract shows the Club’s faith in me and how much confidence they have in me and that is going to come out in my performances on the pitch.

“Everton is looking like it is on the up. We are coming together as players, staff and fans.”

Gordon made 11 appearances in the Premier League last season, with four of those coming as starts for the Toffees.

The 19-year-old claimed a single assist in those games and made a name for himself in the clashes with Liverpool and others.

Ancelotti will want more output from the winger next season, with Gordon only averaging a shot and key pass in every two games according to WhoScored.

This new contract will give Gordon all the confidence in the world, and hopefully, we can see him repay the club next season.
