‘Amazing’ – Lucas Digne shares emotional Everton message as another deal completed
Everton completed their midfield hattrick this week as they completed the signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford.
Carlo Ancelotti wanted to strengthen the midfield at Goodison Park and has added the Frenchman to his side for only £20million.
Doucoure joins Allan and James Rodriguez, with the Toffees going for a complete overhaul in their system from last season evidently.
Not only was it the fans who were delighted with the arrival of Doucoure, but Lucas Digne made it clear with an emotional message to his new teammate.
The two played together for their countries under-16 side many years ago, and they will finally be reunited in Merseyside, much to his delight.
“From the Under-16 to Everton,” he wrote on his Instagram.
“I’m so happy for you bro (not because you don’t kick me more) just because you are an amazing player and an amazing man, Welcome in your home.”
This is exactly what we want to be seeing from our current players and new signings coming into the squad ahead of the start of next season.
The Premier League opener against Tottenham on Sunday is only days away, and this could our new signings hit the ground running and start straight from the off.
Doucoure has been lethal in the top-flight in the past few seasons and is capable of not only defensive work but going forward and scoring goals.
Everton have missed that desperately for many years, and they could have found the perfect player to bring that to the club and it appears as though Digne agrees with us.
