Reliable journalist shares ‘top priority’ of Everton in last weeks of transfer window

Everton have signed a number of players this summer already, significantly strengthening their midfield at Goodison Park.

Carlo Ancelotti has welcomed Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan and James Rodriguez – all three starting both Premier League games so far.

Those two games have seen the Toffees take maximum points against both Tottenham and West Brom – the latter an impressive 5-2 victory.

Reliable journalist Adam Jones has claimed they aren’t yet done in the transfer window, but there will be more outgoings than incomings.

“I can see a number of outgoings being secured before the window shuts,” he wrote in a Liverpool ECHO Q&A.

“It doesn’t benefit anyone to keep players who have little to no chance of any game time sitting around this season, so it’ll be one of the club’s top priorities to work hard and secure the right moves for a number of the fringe players currently here.”

This was clearly expected at Goodison Park, with not many important faces leaving Merseyside in the summer.

Marcel Brands will be tasked with finding new homes for a number of players, with the likes of Fabian Delph potentially on the chopping block.

Jonjoe Kenny could also find himself leaving the club, especially after impressing on loan at Schalke last season in Germany.

With only two weeks left in the window, Everton will need to find potential suitors for their players sooner rather than later if they want to recoup some of the money spent on their new-look midfield.
