Journalist: Everton agree £25m+ fee for defender, medical set for Friday
Everton have pressed ahead with their talks for Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey towards the end of this week.
The Toffees made an enquiry on Wednesday, and the Championship side were said to want more than £25million for any deal.
Godfrey has been involved massively for the Canaries at the beginning of this season but will want to be back in the Premier League if possible.
John Percy has reported that Everton have now agreed a fee to sign Godfrey, as Carlo Ancelotti singles out his priority.
The Telegraph journalist has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Toffees will pay £25million plus add-ons for the defender.
Percy also reported that the 22-year-old will complete his medical in Merseyside in the next 24 hours as they look to complete a deal.
With funds limited, it was hard to see Everton splashing out the cash and they could have negotiated a different deal with many add-ons and payment methods.
Michael Keane has been superb at the beginning of this Premier League season, and there is no doubt that he has cemented his spot.
With Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite both currently injury, Yerry Mina has been in the other central defensive spot.
Godfrey is set to arrive at Goodison Park, and he will be thrown straight into competition with the Colombian international – with Ancelotti clearly a big fan of the youngster.
