Everton & Liverpool interested in Premier League keeper – report

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has continued to disappoint this season despite his side’s early success in the Premier League.

The England international made yet another mistake in the win over Brighton on Saturday, dropping the ball for Neal Maupay’s equaliser.

Carlo Ancelotti has been said to want more competition for Pickford, and he could be about to make a late move for Tottenham stopper Paulo Gazzaniga.

It was reported by talkSPORT earlier on Monday that the Toffees were interested in a move for the South American on deadline day.

Reporting on their official Twitter account, it was claimed that fierce rivals Liverpool were also interested in the switch, with Alisson currently out injured.

Gazzaniga could be made available by Spurs after they made the move to bring in Joe Hart to settle their homegrown quota for the season.

The Times journalist Paul Joyce has claimed on Monday that talks over Gazzaniga have become difficult, and could result in them looking elsewhere.

It was the same for Sergio Romero at Manchester United too, with Premier League clubs not wanting to sell to each other.

Robin Olsen of AS Roma appears to be a more viable target, and it could be the big Swede who comes in to put more pressure on Pickford.

Either way, it is clear that a goalkeeper is wanted at Goodison Park and we expect one to arrive between now and tonight’s deadline.
