Ancelotti says Kean will return to Everton next season following PSG form
Carlo Ancelotti has said that Moise Kean will be an Everton player next season following his goalscoring spell while on loan at PSG.
The Italian has been in fantastic form in the last week, scoring a brace against Dijon in the league and another two goals against Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.
Naturally, this has lead to questions about Kean’s future. Ancelotti was asked in his pre-Newcastle press conference about Kean’s prospects and said that the 20-year-old will be back at Goodison Park next season.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, he said, “I didn’t speak with him but I saw him score four goals in two games, this is good. This is good for Paris Saint Germain, for him and for us also.
“We decided to allow him to go on loan, to play more, to have more opportunity to play more. He is showing his quality and he will be back next season”.
In fairness, this is probably exactly what the Everton boss was hoping for from Kean’s loan spell in France. Hopefully, Kean can grab himself a decent amount of goals this season and return to Goodison Park a player high on confidence and on a mission to prove himself in the Premier League.
Through the week, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel heaped praise on the Italian international and explained that he preferred playing Kean in the striker role ahead of World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe.
It certainly seems that the Everton loanee has adapted to life in France after failing to score in his first two appearances for PSG. While he hasn’t quite matched the goalscoring heroics of Toffees teammate Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Kean could be a valuable player for Everton next season if he carries on his current goalscoring record for the French champions.
In other Everton news, Ancelotti has confirmed that James Rodriguez will miss his side’s trip to Newcastle.
