View: Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is already benefiting Everton
Eyebrows were raised when it was announced that Everton would shortly be leaving Goodison Park for a brand new stadium based in Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock.
It seems as though the new venue will massively benefit Merseyside with a recent statement claiming that the development will generate a £1 billion boost to the economy and create 15,000 jobs.
But we are already seeing the impact of the new stadium on the current Everton project even though work won’t start on the new venue until early 2021.
Recently, summer signing Allan spoke about why he joined Everton in an online question and answer session and he credited the new stadium as part of the reason he decided to move to Merseyside.
He said, “When you look at a club the size of Everton, training every day with Carlo Ancelotti, the project the club has, the stadium – the club is thinking really big.”
We have seen a similar trend at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium as they have attracted world-class talent such as Gareth Bale and Jose Mourinho since its completion.
Everton have a world-class manager and arguably some world-class players. Shortly they will have a world-class stadium as they look to re-establish the club as a great force in European football.
Frankly, Goodison isn’t the stadium it once was and it is hardly a venue that the world’s best players dream of playing at.
The new stadium provides a top-class venue that will impress the greatest players and staff in world football and even though construction hasn’t begun we can see that it is already looking like a good move by the Everton board.
If we can attract players like Allan and James Rodriguez with just the plans of our new stadium, just think of who we will attract once it’s built.
In other Everton news, Richarlison has claimed that Edinson Cavani could have broken his ankle when the Manchester United striker tackled the Everton star on international duty.
