Everton ace ‘expects to be fit’ to face Fulham despite int’l injury scare – report

Everton forward Richarlison is ‘confident’ that he will be able to face Fulham this weekend despite picking up a knock while on international duty, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 23-year-old had to be substituted off in Brazil’s win over Uruguay on Tuesday after Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani unintentionally stamped on Richarlison’s shin.

It was accidental from Cavani but it was deemed as dangerous play and the former PSG striker was sent off after a VAR check.

Richarlison’s withdrawal led to questions over whether he would be ready to face the Cottagers this weekend.

But, the Liverpool Echo are reporting that the Toffees striker ‘expects to be fit’ for Sunday’s game which will come as huge relief to everyone associated with Everton.

The 23-year-old has missed his club side’s last three games and Everton’s form has crumbled without one of their key men.

Successive losses to Southampton, Newcastle and Manchester United have followed since Richarlison was shown a straight red card in the dying moments of the Merseyside derby in October.

Everton are yet to win a Premier League game without Richarlison since the forward joined the club from Watford in the summer of 2018.

This is an alarming stat and shows just how pivotal the often controversial forward has been at Goodison Park since his arrival.

Despite Carlo Ancelotti’s side facing a poor Fulham team on Sunday, a trip to Craven Cottage could be a potential banana skin for the Toffees as they look to avoid a fourth successive defeat.

If Richarlison can play then it will provide a huge boost for Everton as they look to get back to winning ways after losing their strong early season form.

In other Everton news, we believe the new Bramley Moore Dock based stadium is already benefitting the Toffees.
