Mark Lawrenson predicts Everton result v Fulham
Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes Everton will bounce back to winning ways when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
Carlo Ancelotti has seen his side lose all of their last three Premier League matches and fail to win in the league since October 3 when they went top with a victory over Brighton.
Lawrenson, however, is tipping the Toffees to end their barren run in the capital this weekend by beating Fulham 2-0.
“Fulham will feel they should have got something from their visit to West Ham and, if they get a penalty in this game, it’s safe to say that Ademola Lookman will not be taking it,” Lawrenson said on the BBC Sport website.
“Everton haven’t won for a while now – after drawing the Merseyside derby they have lost their past three league games.
“So, this has become a big game for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. They began the season in excellent form but they are on a poor run and they really need to kickstart their campaign with a win at Craven Cottage.”
Everton may have failed to win any of their last four matches in the Premier League but Fulham have won just once this season and that was against a very poor West Brom side.
However, in their last match before the international break, Scott Parker’s side were unfortunate to walk away empty-handed from the London Stadium when they lost 1-0 to West Ham.
Fulham started to show a bit of improvement before Lookman’s botched penalty in East London so it will be interesting to see how they respond to that disappointment.
But a geared-up Fulham should still be a team that this Everton side should be looking to beat with the quality of players that Ancelotti has at his disposal.
