Carlo Ancelotti shares Everton injury update on Allan & Lucas Digne

Carlo Ancelotti has shared a positive injury update on Everton duo Lucas Digne and Allan on Wednesday afternoon.

The Toffees pair are both set to be back in training in January, with both back in Premier League action before the start of February too.

Digne should be back in the first-team fold in the next fortnight, with Allan back in full action at the end of next month.

Speaking in his press conference on Wednesday, Ancelotti shared the news that we have all been waiting for on this critical Toffees duo.

“Allan is doing individual sessions,” he said. “I think that at least around the end of January, he will be ready.

“We have good news from Lucas Digne – he’s starting individual sessions and within one week or ten days, he’ll be able to train with the team.”

The left-back spot has been a real issue at Goodison Park since Digne was ruled out.

Ben Godfrey has been forced into that role in recent months and has been more than solid in defence, but his attacking influence has lacked.

Ancelotti will have been asking him to prioritise clean-sheets given his preferred role is central, and he has certainly shined for the Toffees.

No one has made more tackles per game than Allan according to WhoScored, and both of these returning next month will be a massive boost.
