'He'd be perfect' - Stan Collymore wants to see Dele Alli sign for Everton

Stan Collymore has claimed that out of favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli would be a perfect signing for Everton.

Alli only has one Premier League start to his name this season as he has been left to play in the domestic cups and the Europa League.

Speaking on Twitter, Collymore claimed that Carlo Ancelotti would make Alli ‘responsible’ with the player sometimes accused of having attitude problems.

Speaking about Alli, Collymore said, “He’d be perfect at Everton.

“A manager who’d make him responsible, a club in a football hotbed which tests everything physical and mental, a chance to grow up as a player and man.”

Alli’s first-half performance against Marine in the FA Cup prompted Collymore’s comments as the England international ran the show against the Crosby outfit.

Alli is unlikely to leave the Tottenham Hotspur stadium this month with the 24-year-old potentially becoming an important player for Spurs as the fixtures build up over the rest of the season.

Everton could do with another creative midfielder as the free-scoring Toffees side that started the season seems to be a thing of the past.

Now James Rodriguez is getting back to full fitness, this issue may disappear over the next few weeks but if Alli does ever become available then Everton should jump at the chance to sign him.

Ancelotti is a no-nonsense manager though and he may not want a player who has the potential to cause issues for his squad.

If any manager can get the best out of Alli, it would be Ancelotti. You just have to look at the improvement he has made to Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his shirt time at Goodison Park.

We can’t see this deal happening anytime soon but there is no doubting that the signing of Alli would certainly be interesting.
