'Want to be in Europe' - Keane claims top four is the target for Everton amid title talk
Everton defender Michael Keane has reiterated that it is the club’s aim to secure a top-four finish this season as the Premier League title race hots up.
The Toffees will only be two points off the top of the league if they win their game in hand and there is no reason why the Blues couldn’t put some pressure on Liverpool and the Manchester clubs.
However, Keane maintains that finishing in the top four is the aim for the club this year and praised the quality of his teammates as the squad has struggled with injuries in the first half of the season.
Speaking to the Everton club site, Keane said, “We definitely have to try to fight for the top four.
“We 100 per cent want to be in Europe – we are nearly halfway through the season and close to a Champions League spot, even with a few injuries and setbacks, so that shows we’re capable of it.
“It shows the quality in the squad. The players who haven’t been playing regularly have been brilliant when they’ve come in. Their attitude in training is excellent, so they are ready when their chances come.”

Keano has been one of the star performers this season and his late header against Wolves secured another win as the Blues continue to climb the table.
The 2-1 win was a prime example of how the club has been able to grind out results this season as a makeshift and experimental side secured the points at Molineux.
The defender is 28 now and he has shown a maturity this season that has been missing in recent years.
He is proving to be as vital at the back as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in the attack as he must be one of the first names on the team sheet for Carlo Ancelotti.
If we are to secure Champions League football next season then Keano will have to maintain his excellent form for the rest of the season.
But based on the last few months of 2020, this should be no problem for one of our standout performers.
In other Everton news, Kevin Campbell believes that Jonjoe Kenny should be allowed to leave this month.
