‘Completely wrong’, ‘Worst I’ve seen’ – Everton Super Fans dissect Newcastle loss

Everton lost 2-0 to Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon in what was a bitterly disappointing and poor performance from the Blues.

Callum Wilson scored both goals for the Magpies as the Toffees never really got going and looked a shadow of the side that secured a point against Leicester just a few days previously.

We created very few chances and looked utterly lost as Newcastle drove at the heart of our team and found much success in the wide areas.

It was a huge blow to our top four hopes as, with games in hand, a win against the side who were bottom of the Premier League form table on Saturday was a must.

Many thought that a win would be a formality against this poor side and perhaps that is where things went wrong.

We asked our panel of Everton Super Fans what they thought went wrong on Saturday as some rare criticism of Carlo Ancelotti crept in.

The decision to drop Ben Godfrey looks a poor move in hindsight and this feeling is shared by some of our Super Fans.

Here is how our panel of Everton Super Fans reacted to the defeat.

We have to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves down ahead of the Leeds game in midweek.

After losing to the Whites earlier in the season, revenge could be on the cards this week.

Ancelotti will need to respond and it is easy to see Godfrey being recalled following the defensive vulnerability we showed on Saturday.

We need to keep winning to keep the top four dream alive and we need to pick up three points at Elland Road.
