‘Really rate it’, ‘Can’t fault it’ – Everton Super Fans discuss King signing

Everton completed the signing of Bournemouth striker Joshua King on deadline day on a six month deal for what was described by the club as a ‘nominal fee’.

After missing out on Bayern Munich forward Joshua Zirkzee the club shifted its attention to the south coast and towards a proven Premier League striker.

The 29-year-old has the rest of the season to impress and earn a longer-term contract in the summer as he offers a versatile option in the attack.

King can play on the wing as well as up-front but it is expected that he will provide much-needed back up for Dominic Calvert-Lewin following Cenk Tosun’s loan move to Besiktas.

The deal has minimal risk for the Blues as he is only signing on a six-month deal so if he proves to be a flop then he will leave in the summer for nothing.

Of course, we want King to succeed and his Premier League record of 48 goals in 161 top-flight games suggests that he can.

We asked our Super Fans what they made of King’s arrival and there was a rather positive feeling towards the move.

Here is how our panel of Everton Super Fans viewed the King signing.

We think King could prove to be a very useful player for Carlo Ancelotti.

He can play all across the top of the pitch and he is equally as effective in these areas though there are some concerns.

The forward has failed to score in the Championship this season so he will need to find his goalscoring touch quickly if he is to earn a longer deal.

We’ve all seen him score in the Premier League, let’s hope he can find that form again.
