‘Tough game’ – Exclusive: Campbell predicts Everton v Manchester United result

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell doesn’t think that Everton will pick up a positive result when they travel to Old Trafford this weekend.

Manchester United come into the game on the back of an impressive 9-0 demolition of Southampton with the Red Devils trying to catch their city rivals at the top of the table.

Despite the Blues picking up a good result of their own against Leeds on Wednesday night, Campbell can only see one outcome in this weekend’s game.

Everton

Speaking to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think it’s going to be a tough game.

“I think Manchester United are going to beat Everton. After a little difficult spell they’ve got back on the horse with the 9-0.

“United will have too much quality attacking wise so I’ll go for a 2-1 United win.”

Everton

Wednesday’s impressive win at Elland Road will have given Blues fans a confidence boost ahead of what may prove to be a tricky game this weekend.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin getting back amongst the goals is great news for Carlo Ancelotti and he now has the talent of Josh King to call on as well.

Let’s not forget that the Red Devils played against a 10 man Southampton for the majority of the game and scored three late goals against nine men.

A few days before that they were beaten by bottom side Sheffield United so they are far from invincible.

That said, it will still be a hard game but if we play as we did against Leeds, and not like we did against Newcastle, then there is every chance we will get a positive result.
