Exclusive: Campbell predicts result of Everton v Tottenham FA Cup clash

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell is backing Everton to beat Tottenham in tonight’s FA Cup fifth-round clash at Goodison Park.

Both sides are looking to end their trophy droughts this season and even though Spurs are in the Carabao Cup final, Jose Mourinho will have his eyes on the FA Cup.

Campbell is predicting a good game at Goodison between two sides packing plenty of talent but he was unable to decide whether the game would be settled in normal time or not.

Speaking to Goodison News, Campbell was asked for his prediction for tonight’s game and he said, “2-1 Everton.

“Normal time, extra time, I don’t care! As long as Everton win. It should be a very good game.”

A win means a place in the quarter-finals and from there, any team can win it.

No doubt many Evertonians will be eyeing a potential quarter-final against Championship side Bournemouth who secured their place in the hat with a win over Burnley on Tuesday.

The Blues certainly have momentum coming into tonight’s game following the dramatic 3-3 draw with Manchester United at the weekend.

Spurs, on the other hand, laboured to a 2-0 home win over strugglers West Brom with a result that eased some of the mounting pressure on Mourinho.

We are at home against this ailing Tottenham side and we simply have to win.

While Spurs are in a bad run of form they are still a good team with excellent players and beating them would prove our cup credentials.

So far we have beaten two Championship strugglers so we need to start beating established Premier League sides to really show that we want this trophy.

Finger crosses the boys can get the job done tonight.

In other Everton news, Mourinho has paid Ancelotti a huge compliment ahead of tonight’s game.
