Exclusive: Campbell predicts Everton v Southampton
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell is backing Everton to beat Southampton 2-0 on Monday night as the Saints come into the game in a terrible run of form.
The Saints have lost six of their last seven Premier League games and haven’t won in the league since they beat Liverpool on January 4.
Campbell just can’t see a Southampton win due to their poor form and he claims his former side will keep a clean sheet at Goodison Park.
“Southampton can’t buy a win at the moment.,” Campbell told Goodison News.
“I just think they’ll lose the game. It’s not even a matter of them maybe winning, they’ll lose.
“I think they’re running out of steam because the way they play is so demanding on them. It’s a lot like the problems at Liverpool actually.
“It’s a game they’ll lose. 2-0 Everton.”
We struggled in our last game against Southampton earlier in the season on what was a day to forget on the south coast.
We have the chance to banish those memories on Monday night as well as give ourselves a huge boost in the hunt for a top-four spot.
Considering the form of Ralph Hassenhuttl’s side, we should breeze past them but any Evertonian knows this won’t be the case.
The Blues will continue to work through the week and most of us are expecting a win at Goodison.
If we want European football these are the games we need to win, here’s hoping.
In other Everton news, Southampton have been handed a double injury blow ahead of their game against us.
