Rivaldo recognises Richarlison greatness and backs Everton favourite for big future

Former World Player of the Year Rivaldo has poured praise on Richarlison after the Brazilian’s recent resurgence at Everton.

Rivaldo had one of the most glittering careers in the history of football and the former Brazilian magician has backed Richarlison to become a star in his own right following his Merseyside derby goal at Anfield that ultimately proved to be decisive in a 2-0 win over Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Betfair, Rivaldo noted the progress of his compatriot at Goodison Park, saying: “Everton fans are enjoying Richarlison’s qualities and that’s not a surprise for me.

“He is an excellent player with the personality to take responsibility at any moment, so, this good phase he is going through in England just confirms his pedigree.

“He likes to take centre stage when he plays and is definitely one of the good Brazilian players we have and will continue playing an important role on our national team if he keeps his current form level.”

Riveting Richarlison lighting up the Blues

High praise indeed from one of the best to ever do it.

Hopefully this acts as an extra source of inspiration for our number seven as he aims to establish himself among the Premier League elite.

At 23-years-old, Richarlison is entering a crucial stage of his career now and with three and a half seasons in England behind him, now is the time to show the levels he can reach.

He has endured a few goal droughts this season but after scoring four in his last four, including that goal at Anfield to help us to a historic win over Liverpool, he is primed to power us to European qualification.

Whether we end up in the Champions League or Europa League could very well rest on his shoulders.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin back in the team we can expect him to return to goal scoring form and if Richarlison can chip in with more important goals, we could be set for a thrilling end to the season.

His double over Spurs in the 5-4 FA Cup thriller sent us into the quarter-finals and we should be bidding for glory in that competition too, especially as it also gives us another shot at European qualification, as well as ending our trophy hoo-doo.
