Report – Everton eye exciting Bundesliga winger Silas Wamangituka

Everton are reportedly interested in Stuttgart winger Silas Wamangituka according to Eurosport, with Fulham also said to be keen.

The 21-year old has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting talents this season, having excelled for mid table outfit Stuttgart.

Playing primarily as a right-sided midfielder, Wamangituka has scored 11 times in 22 Bundesliga appearances, while also registering three assists.

Eurosport claim that as well as Everton and Fulham, a number of unnamed ‘bigger clubs’ in Germany have also expressed an interested in the Congolese starlet.

The report likens Wamangituka’s impressive form this season to Nicolas Pepe’s meteoric rise prior to joining Arsenal in 2019, while also complimenting the winger’s pace and finishing ability.

Right on the money

On paper, Wamangituka appears to be just what Everton are looking for. Pacey, prolific and naturally suited to playing on the right side – he certainly fits the profile.

Not to mention at just 21-years old Wamangituka would be a player who would improve Everton’s playing squad both in the short-term and in the long-term, which considering our ageing squad is exactly what Carlo Ancelotti should be targeting in the transfer market.

We’ve been doing well in recent weeks and qualifying for European football next seasons appears to be a very real possibility.

Ancelotti could hope to leverage that mild success to bring Wamangituka to Goodison Park.

With other clubs interested it remains to be seen whether Everton can offer enough to tempt him, but the Blues certainly appear to be an exciting project in the making, especially with Farhad Moshiri’s blessing to continue strengthening the playing squad.

Should we decide that Wamangituka is the player we need, and with all of his aforementioned qualities it seems as though that could be a possibility, then hopefully we’ll make a decisive move for him in good time and not wait until he’s signed up by someone else beneath Everton’s nose.

In other Everton news, Carlo Ancelotti is hesitant to talk up Everton top four opportunities this season.
