View: Remembering Everton’s last three visits to The Hawthorns
Everton are set to travel to the Midlands on Thursday to take on relegation-threatened West Brom in the Premier League.
The Toffees head into the fixture off the back of consecutive victories over Liverpool and Southampton, having also kept back-to-back clean sheets.
West Brom meanwhile beat Brighton at the Hawthorns last weekend, putting an end to a winless run of seven Premier League games.
Ahead of Thursday’s game, Goodison News has taken a look back at Everton’s last three top-flight trips to The Hawthorns.
West Brom 2-3 Everton (September 2015)
Romelu Lukaku spearheaded a second-half comeback against Albion during the 2015/16 season, with Saido Berahino and Craig Dawson having scored either side of halftime to give the home side the lead.
Lukaku scored a brace and Arouna Kone got in on the action to give Roberto Martinez’s side the win in a five-goal thriller.
West Brom 1-2 Everton (August 2016)
Ronald Koeman earned his first win as Everton manager after his side came from behind to beat the Baggies in their second game of the 2016/17 season.
Gareth McAuley gave the home side an early lead but Everton pulled level through a Kevin Mirallas goal on the stroke of halftime, while Gareth Barry’s strike on the hour mark saw the Blues flip the script.
West Brom 0-0 Everton (December 2017)
Everton’s final game at the Hawthorns before Albion dropped down to the Championship saw the home side extend their winless run in the Premier League to 18 games.
Current West Brom boss Sam Allardyce was in the dugout for the Toffees on this occasion, and his side’s uninspired showing was fortunate to go unpunished by a much better but completely toothless Baggies.
In other Everton news, reports suggest that Tottenham could be set to rival Everton for Real Madrid winger and soon to be free agent Lucas Vasquez this summer.
