Elliott Cuff Fan Q&A: Sky is the limit as Everton eye silverware next season

Though Everton have lost their previous two Premier League fixtures, the club still have plenty to work towards in the final stretch of the season.
The Blues will face Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend and if they can beat the Cityzens they would face a strong chance at winning their first piece of silverware since 1995.
Aside from actual silverware though, the Toffees are still very much in the hunt for European football, with both the Champions League and Europa League still within reach.
While it remains to be seen what Everton can do in their remaining ten Premier League games, the club also must keep an eye on next season and plan ahead for the future.
We asked for your burning questions about the Blues this week for Goodison News editor Elliott Cuff to answer.
Right now it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly where the club’s ambitions could be in a few months purely because we don’t yet know which competitions we’ll be competing in.
Silverware should be something that the Toffees aim for each and every season, so the two domestic cup competitions will be firmly on Carlo Ancelotti’s radar. Everton last competed in a cup final in 2009, while they were last in a semi-final in the 2015/16 season, when they reached the final four in both the FA Cup and the League Cup. Everton will want to go one better and win a cup next season.
Aside from cup silverware, Everton will turn their attention to furthering their European ambitions. If the Blues qualify for the Europa League this season, the aim next season will be to go as far as possible in that competition while striving to achieve qualification once again through Premier League placement. If the club qualifies for the Champions League, the aim will be progress to the knockouts.
Whether Everton qualify for Europe of not, the aim in the Premier League, though cliched, will be to take one game at a time and to aim as high as possible. Leicester’s Premier League winning campaign proved that every club should be aiming for ultimate glory, no matter how unlikely that be, and they should work towards that goal by taking each game in turn.
Farhad Moshiri will be desperate to bring silverware to Goodison Park, and either cup competition does seem like the most likely place for Everton to do that. However, if Moshiri does bankroll Ancelotti this summer and provide him with even more funds to strengthen his squad, then the sky should be the limit.
