Predicted Everton XI vs Crystal Palace

Carlo Ancelotti is predicted to make two big changes to his side as Everton take on Crystal Palace on Monday.

Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey have played well in recent weeks but are predicted to miss out, with the latter failing a late fitness test for England U21s on Wednesday [Liverpool Echo] – he was absent for the match against Croatia U21s.

Tom Davies also failed a late fitness test for the England U21s while Jordan Pickford, James Rodriguez and Robin Olsen are also predicted to be unavailable.

The latter is perhaps not in the right frame of mind after requesting to withdraw from Sweden media duties after his home was robbed recently [Fotboll Skanalen].

Injuries mean Michael Keane and Joshua King are predicted to return to the side.

The centre-back was a surprise absence against Manchester City last time out and we think he will join King in the team this time around, who has had to be patient for starts.

Here is how we predict Everton to line up.

The other notable inclusion is Joao Virginia, who could get another rare chance to impress after holding his own against City almost two weeks ago.

Last time out he had three centre-backs in front of him but we expect that will change against an opponent that has scored only four goals in their last seven games.

Mason Holgate could be sacrificed for the more experienced Keane and it is unlikely Godfrey will start due to his fitness woes this week.

The biggest problem facing Ancelotti is the lack of options on the bench.

Alex Iwobi was our only substitute against Man City and he could be our main threat from the bench despite fears he tested positive for Covid over the international break [Liverpool Echo].
