Everton want to sign Dybala, Juventus star not interested in Goodison switch

Everton are interested in signing Juventus star Paulo Dybala this summer but the Argentina international will snub any formal approaches from the Premier League club, according to CaughtOffside.

The football news website claims Dybala, 27, will leave Juventus with his contract at the Serie A club set to expire at the end of next season.

It is understood that “a close source has confirmed” to CaughtOffside that talks over a new deal have hit an impasse with the attacker demanding £8.5million-a-year (£163,000-a-week). Due to the financial impact COVID has had at Juventus, they cannot afford a deal worth so much money.

CaughtOffside also adds: “Despite being one of Europe’s most highly rated attackers, we understand the list of interested clubs is very short.”

Everton are said to be one of the interested clubs but Dybala isn’t keen on a move to Merseyside and Juventus may even keep hold of the Argentinean ace until his contract expires and let him leave on a free transfer.

Lofty ambitions

We’ve come a long way since signing players like Sandro, Cuco Martina and Theo Walcott.

Dybala is well and truly one of the stars of the game in Europe so to see Everton alongside the Juventus attacker in a story about a potential transfer is very exciting.

Unfortunately, Marcel Brands and Carlo Ancelotti are perhaps been a tad too ambitious by eyeing up the former Palermo player.

While we know we’re a massive club with a lot of potential under a manager as highly-regarded as Ancelotti, Dybala must see us as a huge step down from Juventus.

Juve are unlikely to win Serie A this season but they are title challengers in Italy and a team who can compete in the Champions League with players like Cristiano Ronaldo in their side.

Imagine leaving an attack where you’re playing regularly alongside Ronaldo to join one with Alex Iwobi.

Let’s hope the Blues eye up more realistic targets ahead of this summer because results have shown this season that if we make use of the transfer window and really improve the starting line-up, we could actually become a team that regularly challenges for silverware and for continental qualification.

In other Everton news, scouts have been blown away by this international striker who’s playing in England.
