Everton Women expert: ‘Best is yet to come’ from exciting forward Raso
We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.
Everton Women forward Hayley Raso stole headlines as Everton beat Brighton 5-0 last weekend, scoring a hat-trick for the Toffees.
The Australian was in fine goalscoring form at the Broadfield Stadium, with goals from Izzy Christiansen and Simone Magill completing a strong display from Willie Kirk’s side.
Raso had only scored twice in 17 games in the Women’s Super League prior to facing the Seagulls, and will now have renewed confidence heading into the final four league games.

Talking exclusively to Goodison News, MacFarlane was full of praise for Raso’s patience in waiting for her chance to impress.
MacFarlane said: “Hayley [Raso] had to be patient to make her Everton debut having signed just before the pandemic hit last season. It’s tough enough for any player to move to a new country and a new league under normal circumstances, but for Hayley, it must’ve been even harder.
“She’s shown this season exactly why she’s so highly regarded in the game and the hat-trick last week was a great reward for all of her hard work.
“She is the type of player that Evertonians can really relate to. Hard-working, a battler, a leader. Someone who will give absolutely everything for the shirt for every minute she’s on the pitch.
“After the game last week Hayley has said that she really enjoyed playing in a more advanced position having filled in as a wing-back for a few games, but regardless of where she’s played, she’s performed admirably.
“I still think the best is yet to come and I’m really looking forward to seeing her next season having had a full season to adapt and settle in, and I can’t wait for the fans to get back in the stadium so we can give her a proper Everton welcome.”

In other Everton news, The Athletic reported Gregg O’Keeffe has hinted at Everton forward’s likely summer exit from Goodison Park.
