Everton in hunt to sign Salzburg goal machine Patson Daka

Everton are interested in signing RB Salzburg attacker Patson Daka, a striker who bears resemblance to Erling Haaland.

According to the Daily Star, Everton have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old.

However, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to be keen on Daka, who they view as a cheaper alternative to Haaland.

And like the Borussia Dortmund striker, Daka has made a name for impressive with his impressive goalscoring form for Salzburg.

He has been scintillating in the Austrian Bundesliga, netting 23 times in 19 games – including a hat-trick against Sturm Graz on Sunday.

Overall, Daka has 30 goals in 32 games with both the Europa League and Champions League included in that.

He shares other similarities with Haaland, too.

For instance, both players are not shy to take shots on – that is probably why their goalscoring records are so good.

Daka has managed 3.9 shots per game for both Salzburg and Zambia this season [WyScout] – while Haaland has managed three per game [WhoScored].

Per Total Football Analysis, Daka is also quick and strong – just like Haaland – so could be a good option to lead the line for Carlo Ancelotti.

His passing game needs to improve, again just like Haaland, who has 69% pass accuracy per WhoScored.

A return of 67% pass accuracy ranks him just below both Richarlison [71%] and Dominic Calvert-Lewin [69%, WhoScored] , but under Ancelotti we are confident he will progress.

More positively, Daka has completed two successful dribbles per game, on average, per WyScout – double what Haaland has achieved.

Also, the Daily Star report that Daka is priced at £17million, so he could be a cheap arrival at Goodison Park.

With Moise Kean potentially departing on a permanent basis we need a new striker and will have the funds to replace him.

Daka could be that man, as long as we fight off the interest from elsewhere.
