View: Patson Daka would have been perfect for Everton v Crystal Palace

Everton were at their most wasteful this season in the Premier League in their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

The Toffees took the lead through James Rodriguez but threw away all three points when Michy Batshuayi smashed home the equaliser.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison were shocking in the final third, and both could have scored hat-tricks at Goodison Park.

The lack of options on the bench was clear to see for Carlo Ancelotti.

Looking at our targets, the Daily Star recently reported that the Toffees needed to act quickly to sign RB Salzburg forward Patson Daka.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested, in what is hotting up to be a nail-biting race in the summer.

Daka has scored 30 goals this season in Austria, and even notched an 11-minute hat-trick over the weekend, breaking a record at the same time.

Everton

Desperate.

We are more than desperate for another striker to be brought to Goodison Park over the summer, the squad is crying out for that.

Calvert-Lewin is the only out-and-out striker, with Richarlison proving with his efficiency isn’t good enough to start centrally every week.

The xG Philosophy shared their verdict on the game on Twitter after, and their stats claim we were expected to score 2.64 times.

If we are all being honest, it should have been many more than that, with the two forwards missing numerous chances including clear-cut one-on-ones.

Daka is clearly made to finish off these chances when released on goal, and the Zambian playing off the shoulder of Calvert-Lewin could be perfect next season.

Unfortunately, he was clearly needed last night.
