Gary Neville annoyed by Everton Premier League performances

Former Manchester United captain and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has said that he has been annoyed by Everton’s performances this season.

During his Sky Sports appearances, the 46-year-old is not known as someone to mince his words.

This time, the former England international took to social media to conduct a Q&A where he answered football and non-football related questions.

An Everton fan asked him where he thought Toffees’ would finish this season, and Neville expressed the frustration he felt while watching them play.

I’ve switched off on them,” he said.

“Annoying me that they keep letting themselves down at key moments.”

Annoying or overachieving?

Neville appears to be coming from a good place, but it’s surprising to read that he finds our performances annoying.

Very few gave us a chance to finish in the top four at the start of the season, but we’re still in it with a fighting chance at the business end.

If we win our game in hand, we’re only two points away from the top four – which with eight games to go – is a remarkable achievement for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Yes, there have been games we should have won that we didn’t, but that’s the case with every other team in the division.

We’ve had a great campaign, enjoyed away wins against Liverpool and Tottenham while beating Chelsea and Arsenal at Goodison Park.

Most of our new signings have hit the ground running and have taken little to no time in adapting to the manager’s style of play.

Neville can have his reservations, but this has been a successful campaign for us.
