Michael Owen predicts result of Everton clash v Brighton

Michael Owen has backed Everton to draw against Brighton in their Premier League clash on Monday evening.

The former Liverpool attacker has predicted that it will finish 1-1 at the AMEX Stadium, with the home side potentially “tricky” customers.

Carlo Ancelotti won’t have been happy with his side after they threw away all three points against Crystal Palace in the dying moments at Goodison Park last time out.

Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen has backed both sides to leave with an extra point to their tallies this week.

“Brighton gave Manchester United a bit of a scare at Old Trafford last week, but in the end, they left with nothing,” he said.

“Everton fans will be disappointed with their draw at home to Crystal Palace last weekend, however, it did stop what was a three-game losing run in all competitions.

“The Toffees don’t seem to be firing on all cylinders at the moment, and up against a tricky Brighton side, I think it could be points shared for them again. It’s 1-1 for me.”

Shocking.

The performances of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will have been real worries against Crystal Palace in that disappointing draw.

Everton had numerous chances to find the back of the net, with the two attackers nearly reaching double figures in their attempts on goal, not managing to score once.

Brighton will be desperate for points in their bid to survive relegation this season, as they start to create a bigger gap to Newcastle and Fulham below them.

With the gap to fourth spot currently five points, a win here and in our game-in-hand could see us jump into the Champions League qualifiers.
