View: Kean likely summer exit can see Everton bank huge profit
Everton forward Moise Kean appears increasingly likely to leave the club on a permanent basis as the summer transfer window fast approaches.
The Italy international has spent the season on loan with Paris Saint-Germain where he has impressed, despite having failed to make much of an impact on Merseyside last season.
Both PSG and Kean’s former club Juventus are believed to be interested in his services this summer, with the 21-year old once described by Roberto Mancini as “destined for greatness“.
Kean was a second-half substitute for PSG in their Champions League quarter-final game against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, where the Parisian giants would lose on the night but progress to the semi-finals on away goals.
Following that game, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi told RMC Sport (relayed by Sky Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano) that the French club are set to spend big this summer.
Speaking in reference to the respective futures of both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, Al Khelaifi said: “We’ll invest a lot in the club, Neymar and Mbappe have no excuse to leave PSG.”
The PSG president’s comments should be music to Everton’s ears, particularly concerning how high they could set Kean’s asking fee this summer.
Having played regularly for PSG this season, having scored 16 times in 33 games for the French outfit, Kean is unlikely to return to Goodison Park.
With both PSG and Juventus interested in Kean, Everton could anticipate a bidding war to take place, and with PSG willing to spend significantly in the summer the Blues could look to profit.
Kean joined Everton from Juventus in 2019 for £25million, and the Blues would almost certainly want a significant profit on the young forward in order to sanction a sale, which PSG could more than easily accommodate for.
With Kean interested in remaining in Paris, and with PSG willing to spent highly to land their summer targets, Everton could find themselves in a prosperous position regardless of whether the Italian returns to Goodison Park or not.
And that will mean more money for Ancelotti to spend this summer – which will have Everton fans dancing.
