Jim White and Simon Jordan applaud Farhad Moshiri’s Super League stance

Farhad Moshiri spoke out against the European Super League on talkSPORT and hosts Jim White and Simon Jordan applauded the Everton owner.

Everton released a strong statement against the proposals on Tuesday, bashing the big six for looking after their own interests and tarnishing the reputation of the game.

Moshiri doubled down on the radio, saying, “It shouldn’t be about money and it has become all about money.”

White was very accommodating to Moshiri, describing him as a “top man” before the interview.

Jordan then shared his view of the Toffees owner and what he said about the Super League.

Jordan told talkSPORT’s White and Jordan Show, “I think Moshiri is a very decent man.

“I think he’s a very decent operator, I think he’s put his heart and soul into Everton and I think Everton owe him a humongous debt because he’s got big ambitions to build this club.

“You cannot not respect him, he has invested in his football club, I like the way he speaks in the media.

“If you go out now as one of the clubs that aren’t included and say ‘we are against it’ you are now the people’s champion.”

Proud

Everton have led the way and Moshiri spoke with calm and authority on what is a difficult subject.

Premier League clubs, excluding the big six, will host a meeting on Tuesday and we hope Everton receive the backing of our league rivals.

There needs to be a united stand against those six and the other European clubs involved – anything else would be giving in to the farcical Super League.

Moshiri is clearly respected in the game and has led Everton in the right manner ever since he took charge.

The plan to move stadiums shows he is ambitious but also hints at a long-term project – he is not just spending big on players and wages in the hope of short-term glory.

We wish there were more owners like him in England. If that was the case we likely would not have clubs trying to break away from the league.
