Everton face Premier League competition in Hwang pursuit

Everton could face competition from West Ham and Crystal Palace if they shore up interest in Hee-chan Hwang this summer, according to the Telegraph.

Sport1 reported late last month that the Toffees had registered an interest in the South Korea international, who had reportedly become disillusioned with RB Leipzig.

The 25-year old forward only moved to the German club last summer but he has found starts in the Bundesliga tough to come by, making just one all season.

Now the Telegraph claim that Everton will faced additional competition from two of their Premier League rivals for the former Salzburg star this summer.

The Telegraph’s report also indicates that Hwang could be allowed to leave for as little as £10million, which they claim must be seen as good value in the current market.

Hwang recently indicated to Kicker that he would hold talks on his future with the club and new Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch when the current season ends.

Everton

Steal at that price

Everton should be in a position to beat both West Ham and Crystal Palace to Hwang’s signature this summer, assuming the Blues are actually interested.

West Ham may be able to offer Europe while Everton could miss out, but Carlo Ancelotti’s project must be seen as the more inviting prospect, while Palace could do well to compete.

However for such a low price tag there is bound to be plenty more suitors for Hwang’s signature. Having been described as possessing “exceptional” talent and “brutal dynamism”, the South Korean is likely to be a hot prospect at such a low transfer fee.

Everton are in desperate need of bolstering their front line and with the Leipzig forward available for so little they would be crazy not to at least make some sort of movement towards negotiation, especially if Hwang wants out of the German club this summer.

The Toffees need to work extremely hard over the next five games to finish the season as well as they can and, in turn, hopefully give themselves the strongest negotiating platform heading into the summer window.
