Dennis Adeniran confirms Everton exit after four-year spell

Everton midfielder Dennis Adeniran has confirmed his departure from the club on Twitter after four unsuccessful years on Merseyside.

Adeniran, 22, joined the Blues from Fulham in 2017 for a fee that could have eventually fetched £4million. [Sky Sports]

However it’s not gone to plan for him as he will leave the club after failing to make a first-team appearance, while his last season at the club was spent away at Wycombe Wanderers who he made 21 Championship appearances for as they suffered relegation.

Adeniran confirmed the news on his personal Twitter profile as he penned his farewell to supporters.

“My time at Everton has come to an end,” he wrote.

“Since signing from Fulham in 2017 I have felt honoured to represent Everton – a huge club with a great history.

‘I will leave this club with very fond memories and great affection for all of the staff, colleagues that I’ve had the pleasure to train and play with and the fans.

“I hope to one day come back and play at Goodison Park in front of the amazing Everton fans.”

Exodus continues

Adeniran is the latest Blues outcast to confirm his departure as the club step up their plans to offload unwanted players.

Callum Connolly tweeted his exit on Tuesday and Adeniran has followed in his footsteps just a day later.

We’ve seen absolutely nothing of Adeniran in the first team as he has failed to make the grade, but we wish him well in his future endeavours.

It’s great to see his desire to return to the club and eventually play at Goodison Park, though we assume that would be for an opposition club unless he is really backing himself to fulfil his potential elsewhere.

We can expect a few more goodbyes as the club steps up its summer plans with players expected to come in and out of Finch Farm as director of football Marcel Brands further stamps his authority on the club.
