Andy Hinchcliffe slams Seamus Coleman in Everton clash v Aston Villa

Andy Hinchcliffe has slammed Everton defender Seamus Coleman for his performance in the Premier League clash with Aston Villa this evening.

The Irish veteran was once again played further forward on the right but often wasted good opportunities at Villa Park.

Coleman’s attacking work has been superb in recent weeks, but his defensive appetite was too much for Hinchcliffe, who wasn’t happy with certain fouls that were given away.

Speaking on live commentary of the game on Sky Sports, Hinchcliffe wasn’t impressed with the Toffees skipper at Villa Park.

“It’s unnecessary from Seamus Coleman,” he said.

“He doesn’t need to do that. He doesn’t need to get too tight and give away a free-kick, it’s a cheap one.”

Calm Down.

Hinchcliffe was very much overreacting when negatively bringing Coleman down.

The Irishman knows what it takes to succeed in defence, and has been brought up on pressurising his man significantly to force the mistake.

Unfortunately, the game has changed massively over the years, and any slight contact from the defender will see the opposition throw themselves to the floor; what is worst is that the linesman and referee fall for it every time.

Coleman won’t change his game, and we love his tenacity in every last thing he does on the pitch, after all, it has made him one of the biggest bargains in Premier League history.

A handful of fouls won’t change that, and his performances this season have been incredible despite his veteran status at Goodison Park.
